On the tour, you may pick up a magazine with a map of the homes, magazines are stocked at each home, so you do not have to view the homes in order. The 28 new homes will be open every day during the Parade of Homes St George, from 10 a.m. Wear shoes that are comfortable and easy to remove, as you will need to remove them in each home .

We’re once again approaching the St. George Parade of Homes a.k.a the grand tour of all the newest and best homes recently built. It allows builders and home owners a chance to show off their creations to the general public, while helping to introduce people to new builders, styles, and the latest trends . The Parade of Homes is a self-guided tour offering an opportunity for established, prospective residents and visitors to see what is new and innovative in the home building industry. Exhibitors will be located in the garages of the homes displaying the latest home products and related services. The Parade of Homes should be an excellent one this year as the southern Utah market is recovering and is nearing the pre-recession highs.

Due to our crazy work schedules we were only able to make a quick weekend trip down to St. George which meant we had to pick and choose which homes we went to. We decided to stick to homes 1-9 and since they were all grouped together, which meant…we went to Kayenta and Entrada!! As you’ll see below, our pictures this year are of mostly modern desert homes amidst the red rocks and lava fields. Every February around President’s day, the Southern Utah city of St. George is inundated with visitors from all over to go to the St George Parade of Homes.

The St. George Area Parade of Homes provides a mobile app for Android and Apple devices. The free app allows attendees to preview homes and floor plans, navigate to the parade homes, access an e-ticket, view a list of building professionals, and save notes and photos of favorite homes. Early in my career while living in Cedar City Utah I was a part of ICHBA . As the chairman of the membership committee, I learned firsthand how vital the building industry is to Cedar City, St George, and all of Southern Utah. New home construction produces thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in revenue for our local economy every year.

It also serves to make our community one of the most beautiful and modern in the nation. Back by popular demand is the St. George Area Parade of Homes app! You will be able to preview the homes from your mobile phone or tablet, navigate to your favorite Parade homes, use an e-ticket, find restaurants and building professionals and much more! Download the official St. George Area Parade of Homes app on Google Play Store and the App Store in February. When you purchase your ticket you will receive the magazine which contains the map/home addresses. If you purchase your ticket on-line, you will be instructed how to obtain the map/addresses.

Besides all the hype you hear about these homes, it has been a tradition in my family to go on the tour since we moved to Utah. I have been talking up the St George Parade of Homes to Chris since we first started dating and this was the year he finally got his first taste of all these unique homes. Please do not take my pictures or artwork and use them as your own, they are my property and copyrighted. If possible, have the photographer to come back during evening hours to shoot and further play up the character and personality of the home. Professional staging with professional photos make a home a true stand out, creating those ooh and ahh moments at every turn. Living on the lava rocks isn’t for everyone and especially not for the weak at heart.

Preview videos of the building process have been posted on the parade Facebook page over the past two months, allowing the public to get a taste of what each home has to offer prior to opening. Clear skies and sunshine are expected for opening weekend of the parade where thousands will tour each home. A specific route is published by the association for all participants to make the travel from home to home simple. This year’s parade will run through Feb. 25 and feature 28 homes throughout the St. George area.

A portion of each ticket sale is given back to the community through the Southern Utah Home Builders Care Foundation, which contributes to local charities and education scholarships. As patrons exit each home, various booths will provide the latest in-home products and related services. Many of the homes have already been sold, however some are still available for sale for any patrons that would like to own a parade home.

Children three years and older are required to have a ticket. According to a report by ERA Brokers Consolidated from Nov. 2016-Nov.2017 the median home price in Washington County has increased by 12% year-over-year, with the inventory of homes falling by 18.8%. This means home prices are rising at around 1% per month, while the inventory of homes is now about to dip below a three month supply. This potential shortage should continue to exert upward pressure on home prices for 2018. Read our recent report on the Southern Utah market.

TheAnnual St. George Area Parade of Homesshowcases 28 newly constructed homes, introducing the newest building standards, trends, upgrades. Part of the draw is professional staging, breathing life and warmth into large, open spaces. This event has a long-standing tradition of displaying a variety of spectacular homes and introducing exciting new trends to attendees across the state. The homes are set among breathtaking landscapes only found in Southern Utah.

Also be sure to have socks, some homes will not allow bare feet. Once you have your ticket, you can view as many homes each day as you’d like, during the 10 days. Once you’ve seen all the houses, you can go back to your two favorites for another visit. The annual event is hosted by the Southern Utah Home Builders Association and Zions Bank and will take place this year from February 16th through the 25th. Each has been built and decorated by a different local builder.
